Kara NasvigZendaya and Tom Holland were noticeably absent from the 2025 Academy Awards and its glamorous after-parties, despite Zendaya’s film Dune: Part Two being nominated for Best Picture. The couple, who recently got engaged, did not attend the ceremony or any post-Oscar celebrations.
Why They Skipped the Event
Zendaya did not receive an individual nomination this year. Additionally, her highly anticipated film Challengers was completely shut out from the nominations, which many considered a snub. Ultimately, Dune: Part Two lost Best Picture to Anora, further reducing the likelihood of her attending.
Another possible reason for her absence? Zendaya was recently spotted filming Euphoria Season 3, which may have conflicted with her schedule. While she skipped the night’s festivities, her Euphoria co-stars Sydney Sweeney and Hunter Schafer were seen at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party.
As for Tom Holland, he had no projects tied to the Oscars this year, making it easy for the couple to opt out of the high-profile event altogether.
