Gwendoline Christie made a stunning appearance at Maison Margiela’s Artisanal 2024 Collection showcase during Paris Fashion Week. The Game of Thrones actress captivated the audience with her portrayal of a porcelain doll, embodying the theme with remarkable precision.

Christie’s striking ensemble included a translucent ballgown adorned with a baby blue corset and a voluminous ruffled skirt, accentuated by a shiny white collar made of leather. Completing the look were white opera-length gloves, matching stockings, and chunky heels, creating a captivating visual spectacle.

Noteworthy attention to detail extended to Christie’s makeup, which transformed her features into that of a porcelain doll. With bleached eyebrows and pencil-thin arches, her face resembled delicate glass, enhanced by vivid mint blue eyeshadow and rosy-pink blush for added drama. Subversive shades of blood-red and black adorned her lips, complemented by a hyper-shiny glaze to mimic the reflective quality of glass.

Hairstylist Duffy contributed to the doll-inspired theme by styling Christie’s hair in tight pin curls, further enhancing the overall aesthetic.

Reflecting on her participation in the show, Christie expressed profound gratitude, stating, “I can’t tell you how meaningful this is for me because I’ve loved fashion for such a long time.” Describing her character as a “doll” with intricate layers, she acknowledged the complexity of her look and the creative vision behind it.

Maison Margiela’s Artisanal Collection, curated by Creative Director John Galliano, drew inspiration from the ritual of dressing as an expression of emotion. Against the backdrop of Pont Alexandre III bathed in the light of the first full moon of the year, Galliano captured a moment in time, inviting spectators to delve into the realm of haute couture.

Christie’s portrayal of a porcelain doll added a whimsical yet enigmatic dimension to the collection, affirming her status as a captivating presence on the runway.
